Frequently Asked Questions
How long has PMI been in business?
PMI has been in business over 35 years, we are one of the oldest preeminent consulting firms in the U.S.
What is the purpose of the preliminary analysis?
The preliminary analysis is to determine project scope, duration, cost and payback potential.
How much staff involvement is there during a preliminary analysis?
The preliminary analysis takes on average one week to complete. PMI sends a preliminary analysis packet to complete prior to our arrival; the packet takes approximately one hour for each manager or supervisor to complete.
How many people are assigned to the project?
Typically as few as possible to prevent inundating your staff, and avoid service interruptions to the customers.
How long do projects typically take PMI to complete?
The size of the organization, number of branches, number of personnel, and the total project scope all help determine the duration of the project. This time frame will be determined during the preliminary analysis.
How much interruption is there during the project?
Projects and our staff are scheduled around your personnel, your customers, and your deadlines; PMI always works by appointment to avoid interfering with day-to-day activity.
How is pricing for a project to be determined?
The preliminary analysis defines project scope, duration, and payback potential which are all important factors for determining the cost of the project.
Are you just another efficiency firm?
No, we at PMI want to make your organization more effective by doing the right job at the right time with the correct number of staff in order to provide superior service.
What makes you better than your competition?
PMI is widely known as "the implementors" for the simple reason that as we make recommendations throughout the project - once approved - we then work to implement these suggestions with your staff; we are an effective catalyst for positive change.
What exactly can your company do that we cannot?
We do not do anything you cannot do; however, we can do it better, more rapidly and cheaper in the long run. It would take your staff significantly more time to complete what we come in and accomplish for you. The delayed savings (or lost savings) will more than offset the cost of your project.
How effective and enduring is your program?
The PMI program will exceed its cost in the first year. The majority of our clients utilize our services on a permanent retainer program whereby we come back each year to update and implement the latest industry changes and innovations. The results are cumulative and the savings carry over year after year.
